Is God, Or Chance, The Author of Life?

While the Bible is not a book of science; it contains some stunning scientific truths.  Why was God interested in laying out origins in that book?  I believe he wanted to tell us that He is the author of creation and disbelief could lead to chaos.
Most people shy away from this book because its claims seem ludicrous. But, no journey to Christ can begin without understanding Genesis because it is the book of origins: of the universe, of human beings, of human sexuality, and God’s desire for a relationship with us.
If the universe was a product of chance, it would not have the hallmarks of dependable regularities like gravity, the nuclear and magnetic forces, the seasons and signs in the sky, the sunrises and sunsets. Without the dependable laws we observe in nature, scientists would not have been able to work out formulas and other calculations. Genesis 1 not only enabled science; it virtually commands it.

The Greeks did not see it and neither did other worldviews. The early Christians saw it and all scientific enterprise could be established because they believed in Genesis 1.
A computer engineer cannot be inside a computer to design and make it; he has to be necessarily outside of it. This comes from pure common sense. Similarly, the entity that brought the universe into existence has to be outside of it. And just as a computer has the ‘signature’ of its maker; God’s signature can be seen in all of creation.
The existence of the universe itself is a mystery. Every scientist agrees that there was a beginning. The only difference is some believe a tiny speck of matter (like a grain of sand) exploded on its own and the universe and everything we see today came into being over billions of years. But what exactly exploded? What caused the explosion? What energy is keeping this universe run like a perfect clock? Can different types of matter come from one element? Has anyone observed an explosion bringing life? Can matter alone produce emotions? And can order come from disorder without any intervention?

Can you flip a coin and make it fall on any one side all 10 quintillion times? Those are the odds of the universe coming into existence and producing life on its own!
The universe is incredibly fine tuned for life. The late Christopher Hitchins, a very aggressive atheist, had conceded that the fine tuning argument “was the most powerful argument of the other side.”

As science gets more and more advanced, science itself points to a Creator!  We shall see…
